Jeff Chue
Executive Director, Strategic Assets (APAC)
Wharf House Pte Ltd

Jeff’s career in sport began in London as a solicitor in private practice with Europe’s top sports law firms Townleys and Hammonds, advising a wide variety of sports federations and rights holders on commercial and regulatory issues. Following a rewarding move back to Asia, Jeff worked with leading international sports marketing and media agencies World Sport Group and Nimbus, operating from Singapore, Hong Kong and India, on the commercial rights programmes of the Asian Football Confederation, Asian PGA Tour, and the International Cricket Council (including global syndication of media rights to the 2003 and 2007 ICC Cricket World Cups).

In 2004, Jeff relocated to Switzerland as FIFA’s Broadcast & Media Rights Counsel where he documented, negotiated and secured the global exploitation of FIFA’s multi-billion dollar broadcast and media rights programme 2007-2014 (including the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups™), as well as the host broadcast infrastructure and technical requirements for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ and numerous other FIFA events.

With the establishment of Wharf House, Jeff returned to Singapore in 2007 to head-up its Asia-Pacific business operations. Combining blue-chip legal know-how with industry-specific technical expertise, Jeff was a key figure in the reconstruction of the broadcast infrastructure and technical specifications for the AFC Asian Cup 2015, as well as the creation of a broadcast strategy for the IFNA World Netball Championships 2011. Notably, he also played integral roles in the media rights sales of some of the largest sports properties, including the immensely successful UEFA EURO 2008™ and Italian Serie A (Seasons 2007/08 to 2009/10).

Jeff is an alumnus of the postgraduate Sports Law programme at King’s College London, and is married with two young children.
